Founder

Dr. Kun Li

Dr. Kun Li was awarded a PhD in the field of optoelectronics by the University of Cambridge, UK, in 2013, and has been named a Clare Hall College Young Fellow (Research Fellow) in the Science category, and was a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Engineering.

During his time in the UK, he twice received exploratory youth research funding from the Cambridge Advanced Optoelectronics Center.  He led the team to lead the industrialisation of high-performance LCoS silicon-based liquid crystal chips in terms of packaging, testing and characterisation. He has applied for 14 international invention patents PCT (6 granted in the US, Europe and China) and published more than 20 SCI/EI academic articles. Collaborated with a number of companies including Jaguar Land Rover in the UK, and the R&D project won the first prize of Tata InnoVista (Tata Group Innovation Competition) in Europe.

In 2014, he founded CamOptics Ltd. in the UK and received start-up funding from the Enterprise Department of the University of Cambridge. CamOptics(SuZhou) Co., Ltd. was established in Suzhou in January 2022 and received strategic investments from Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute, Suzhou Industrial Technology Research Institute of Suzhou Venture Capital Group, and Suzhou Industrial Park Leading Venture Capital. Dr. Li Kun has successively won the Suzhou Jinji Lake Science and Technology Leading Talent Project and the Gusu Innovation and Entrepreneurship Leading Talent Project.

CamOptics(SuZhou) Co., Ltd. has achieved mass production of high-performance silicon-based liquid crystal LCoS through its independently developed advanced packaging manufacturing process and core technologies such as holographic algorithms, and has been recognized and applied by leading companies in the industry. Its product performance is ahead of its peers in the industry.
